Man Riding Scooter Hit, Killed by Car on Highway 87 near Taylor Street [San Jose, CA]
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal scooter crash happened around 3:00 a.m. Friday. Under unclear circumstances, a 24-year-old Elk Grove man driving a 2021 Tesla struck the 23-year-old San Jose man on a Lime scooter. Subsequently, officers responded to the scene to find the victim on the road near the Taylor Street off-ramp. Tragically, he passed away from his severe injuries. Authorities did not release his name.
Following the crash, the uninjured Tesla driver stayed at the scene. Police made no arrests but have yet to identify the exact events preceding this crash.
Unclear circumstances means the Tesla may have gone out of control before hitting the scooter. Self driving? Details are light so this is a might be self driving incident? Seeing as the accident occurred near the offramp, it would seem the Tesla drove into the back of the scooter.

The computer errors from outer space
(Elon Musk: Model S not a car but a ‘sophisticated computer on wheels’)
When computers go wrong, we tend to assume it's just some software hiccup, a bit of bad programming. But ionising radiation, including rays of protons blasted towards us by the sun, can also be the cause. These incidents, called single-event upsets, are rare and it can be impossible to be sure that cosmic rays were involved in a specific malfunction because they leave no trace behind them.
And yet they have been singled out as the possible culprits behind numerous extraordinary cases of computer failure. From a vote-counting machine that added thousands of non-existent votes to a candidate's tally, to a commercial airliner that suddenly dropped hundreds of feet mid-flight, injuring dozens of passengers
Plus, since giant ejections from the sun can sometimes send huge waves of particles towards Earth, what's called space weather, an unnerving prospect looms: we could see much more disruption to computers than we're used to during a massive geomagnetic storm in the future

I definitely believe Musk participated in pumping TSLA for gains like a fake it until it makes it scam; gains which he used to fund SpaceX for the military and consumer purposes. That said, it doesnt mean i do not believe he or others that pumped TSLA like they did, necessarily did it solely for gain. I believe Musk intends for Tesla to succeed...one day. I just do not think he ever will because of EM radiation will continue to plague his company's technology. It'll get worse the more the earths magnetic field weakens. Fake it until they make it scams in Silicon Valley generally have good intentions at their core. They overstate things because they need the funding and without it definitely will not succeed. I get the base reasoning. I think Theranos was the same at its core too, particularly early on, thinking if they threw enough money at the problem they could solve it one day. Like Theranos I expect Tesla to fail in its level 5 network of Robo Teslas because Teslas will continue to glitch, go out of control, kill, and spontaneously combust all because of EM radiation. I do think Tesla will succeed at some limited robotaxi network testing (level 4). However because Tesla receives so much publicity, this may actually cause more harm to the self driving industry when those robotaxi's inevitably glitch and cause harm.
There are more downsides to EVs than just going out of control. Like the fact they are destroying lives, in addition to taking them, leading to false imprisonment because its so hard to identify a glitching piece of tech.
EVs also pollute more than their ICE counterparts because of tire wear in addition to the significant harm done from all the mining required, pollution from processing, and upfront pollution for battery production. EVs require alot of gas to produce.
EVs also expose operators and their passengers to unsafe levels of EM radiation which will cause biological harm that is not currently being recognized. EVs are going to be a blight on this world.

With the rise of self-driving car technology, it's possible that computer systems on these vehicles could malfunction due to cosmic rays. What if, during an automated trip, imagery from a camera mounted at the front of the car became corrupted and the on-board computer failed to spot a person walking out in front of the vehicle?
However, the research is yet to be published and he says he's not allowed to reveal what the starting level of accuracy was during the experiments.
Such interventions could make self-driving cars of the future safer but they wouldn't eliminate the possibility of a cosmic ray causing other problems. And this raises an interesting conundrum for insurers.
"In a world of fully autonomous vehicles, how can you prove the accident happened because of cosmic rays?" says Rech. "That is very challenging. I mean, it's impossible, by definition." In ambiguous cases, disputes over whether a human or technology manufacturer – or space weather – was at fault might be difficult to resolve
Impossible to prove but can and does happen. Can even be emulated in a lab setting.

You can see right here that Teslas still suffer Whompy Wheel issues. "Tesla was driving passed a parked bus and its back wheel fell off🤣". Tesla isnt using inferior alloys, EM radiation is causing spontaneous fracturing of its suspension components.

Tesla is not a robotics company. You could say its a software company that also produces hardware or even an AI company that produces hardware. Thats still not a robotics company. Optimus robots are essentially hardware Tesla is trying to produce to use its AI software in. In this sense Tesla is like Apple. Apple produces several hardware products that utilize its software ecosystem but the hardware is really about providing a vessel for its software in a way to control quality of the hardware its software platform is used on. Which begs the question, why does Tesla have supposed quality control issues that cause its Whompy Wheel issue? I say it doesnt have quality control issues and that the hardware is fine. Thus Hutchison Effect is what causes Tesla's Whompy Wheel issues; a consequence of all that EM radiation.
That said, Tesla will fail to produce robots that function safely just like it fails to produce cars that function safely. This is because EM radiation will cause Tesla's Optimus robots to glitch and kill just like it does Tesla cars. EM Radiation will also cause Optimus robots to spontaneously combust and burn houses down; particularly if they use lithium batteries.

Tesla (TSLA) shareholders voted in favor of CEO Elon Musk's pay package at Thursday's annual shareholder meeting. Canaccord Genuity Managing Director George Gianarikas joins Catalysts to discuss the results of the shareholder vote, takeaways from the event, and the EV company's outlook.
"We were very encouraged that shareholders approved the previously approved pay package.
Obviously, Elon Musk is critical to the success of Tesla in the past and in the future... We're very bullish on the long-term prospects of full self-driving (FSD) and we're bullish on robotics," Gianarikas says.
At Thursday's meeting, Musk discussed leveraging the inference compute on some of the full self-driving vehicles, which Gianarikas believes could in the long-term "create something that looks like Amazon's (AMZN) AWS that he can then sell and create a revenue stream around. That's probably going to impact the PNL 2030 and beyond."
As Tesla continues to innovate with AI, Gianarikas believes the company is "in an incredibly enviable position relative to other companies for real-world AI. And what real-world AI means for us in the near term is full self-driving, maybe long-term moving robots."

Tesla in self-driving mode plows into police car as officer investigates separate deadly crash in OC
The Fullerton Police Department said the driver admitted to putting the vehicle in self-driving mode while he was on the phone.
FULLERTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A Tesla that was in self-driving mode plowed into a police cruiser in Fullerton while the officer was investigating a deadly crash.
The incident happened Wednesday night at the intersection of W. Orangethorpe and Courtney avenues.
The Fullerton Police Department said the police cruiser had its emergency lights on, and several flares were placed on the road when a blue Tesla crashed into the vehicle.
"The driver of this Tesla admitted to engaging his vehicle's 'self-drive' mode while using his cell phone, a clear violation of responsible driving practices and California law," said police a news release.
Why say self driving and not full self driving? Pretty self explanatory, Tesla with FSD enabled drove straight into an emergency vehicle like so many Teslas before it.

According to ARK’s latest Tesla projection report, which was released on Wednesday, the firm expects the company’s value to swell to $2,600 per share, with a bull case of potentially $3,100 and a bear case of $2,000...."

In a previous post i claimed that "Tesla = fake it until you make it scam". In other posts ive claimed that Tesla is a bigger scam than what Theranos was. People will say it sells cars, its cant be a scam. Very true, the car part and the energy part of the company are not "fake it until you make it scams". What makes Tesla a fake it until you make it scam is the fact that Tesla would not have sold nearly as many of its cars and possibly even megapacks without the lies that have been perpetuated about Tesla to help pump it. Its valuation would be nowhere near what it is or peaked at and thus fewer investors could have purchased so many Teslas. Elon Musk would not be worth the over hundred billions hes worth, without the misleading claims, mostly by Mr Musk, about Teslas FSD software and what could be achieved by it in a rather short period of time. Reality is that true full self driving is decades away if ever achieved; i lean toward never because of natural phenomena that should make it impossible to safely achieve.
Its possible that Tesla produces a few robotaxis and tests them in cities like Cruise and Waymo do, but this would be just part of said fake it until it makes it scam as the underlying software is NOT safe for true full self driving. Thus, I'd expect Tesla to experience the same setbacks those companies have in the cities they operate in, struggle with expanding to other cities, or even continue to operate in the cities they are allowed to be in . In other-words, it will not achieve true self driving robotaxi network. At least its finally going to try and put the public at greater risk at the same time.
What constitutes a fake it until you make it scam?
it was arguably a referendum on “fake it till you make it” practices, such as intentionally overstating, and thereby misrepresenting, a fledgling company’s current capabilities, success, or profitability, while banking on the notion that its aspirations will eventually follow the desired trajectory and become a reality.
Is that not exactly what Elon Musk did when he made a series of promises 8 years ago that helped Tesla drive its valuation, sell more vehicles, and net him billions in gains via his enormous share count? This scheme was so successful that sales grew in part because a lot of people invested in TSLA, used their gains to buy 1 or more of Teslas vehicles; some of which then sold them for profit on the secondary market because of all the hype around Tesla coupled with shortage in supply. Without said fake it until you make it scam, Tesla and the greater EV market would likely be on its last breath; at least in the US and Europe.

May 8 (Reuters) - U.S. prosecutors are examining whether Tesla (TSLA.O), opens new tab committed securities or wire fraud by misleading investors and consumers about its electric vehicles’ self-driving capabilities, three people familiar with the matter told Reuters.
Elon Musk’s Big Lie About Tesla Is Finally Exposed
Not long before the pandemic reared its ugly head, the brilliant, serial entrepreneur Elon Musk promised to roll out an Uber-like service enabled by self-driving Tesla vehicles. According to Musk, Tesla owners could expect to earn up to $30,000 per year in extra cash by lending their Teslas out to anyone in need of a ride. Owners and customers would transact on the “Tesla network.”
This self-driving technology already exists. At this point, the network can go live very soon, opening the world to an exciting new way to make money while you sleep.
Back in 2016, Elon Musk claimed that Tesla cars could “drive autonomously with greater safety than a person. Right now.” It was a lie, one that sent Tesla’s stock price soaring — and made Musk among the wealthiest people on the planet. That lie is now falling apart in the face of a new recall of 2 million Teslas. It’s also revealing to the broader public what close observers of Tesla have always known (and the company itself admits in the fine print of its legal agreements): Tesla’s so-called “self driving” technology works fine — as long as there’s a human behind the wheel, alert at all times.
Article fails to include that sales of Tesla vehicles would be nowhere near what Tesla has sold to date without these lies.
By this time Musk had MCed numerous stock price-spiking hype events around the technology, and had been collecting deposits from customers since late 2016 for a “Full Self-Driving” version of the technology. Despite the reported deaths and clear evidence that the only video of a driverless Tesla was heavily staged, even Musk admits that his hype around self-driving technology has been the central factor in the recent growth of his wealth to titanic proportions.
BYD thoughts of Self driving technology
“We think self-driving tech that’s fully separated from humans is very, very far away, and basically impossible,” Li Yunfei, a spokesperson for BYD, said in Mandarin, translated by CNBC.
“When we think about [self-driving tech] from all aspects, from human psychological safety needs, from ethics, from regulation, from technology — including application in this industry — we haven’t figured out [the logic] and we think it is probably a false proposition,” Li told reporters on the sidelines of the Shanghai auto show on Tuesday.
“There may be many industries and businesses that invest a lot of money on this [tech], and after investing for many years it will prove it leads nowhere,” he said.
